Carlos J Lozada, MD
Carlos Lozada, MD, is Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology and Immunology and director of the Rheumatology Fellowship Training Program at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center. He is also director of Rheumatology Clinical Services at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. Dr Lozada received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. He served an internal medicine internship and residency at the North Shore University Hospital-Cornell University Medical College and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. His rheumatology fellowship was completed at New York University Medical Center/The Hospital for Joint Diseases. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Rheumatology.
Dr Lozada is a member of the editorial board of Current Treatment Options in Rheumatology, is an author and medical editor for Emedicine and an ad-hoc reviewer for several publications. He has authored and co-authored many articles and monographs, including multiple textbook chapters, particularly in Osteoarthritis. He has also been involved in clinical studies in osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis. Dr Lozada has served in multiple roles as a volunteer at the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) and at PANLAR.
